The nearest public beach, “Mononaftis Bay”, is in 250m distance, which due to the hillside location of the hotel is steep downhill from the main building. Guests are offered a free mini bus shuttle at 5 set times daily.

What is the Location & the Surrounding of Blue Bay Resort Hotel like?
‘Blue Bay Resort Hotel’ is located on the northern side of Crete, above “Mononaftis Bay”, 22km from the capital city of Heraklion, in the quite village of Agia Pelagia.
Thanks to its privileged slope position, it offers breathtaking views of the Cretan Sea. The environment is full of natural beauty, making it an ideal choice for relaxing and enjoyable holidays. Blue Bay Resort Hotel also is a central point for excursions throughout the island of Crete.
A few shops, taverns, cafeterias, etc are at the nearby “Mononaftis Bay” and more are in the centre of “Agia Pelagia”, in about 2km distance, where a sandy beach is also.
However, the hillside location of the hotel’s resort is involving steps as well as stairs.
Annex-Buildings are in distance of 50m to 250m up-, or downhill from the main building.
Also the environment is hilly. Accordingly, a stay for persons with mobility issues is not and for strollers limited recommended.

Dress Code – Which kind of clothing is accepted and why?
The following rules are vital to protect the right of every hotel guest for a safe and beautiful rest:
Dress Code is a matter of ethics; it is not customary to be inside the hotel in a swimming suite, with a naked torso or barefoot. In order to get through the lobby of the hotel one must always wear some additional clothes over the swimming suit, put on shoes and cover their torso.
Dress Code is a matter of safety; in order to create potentially injury-prone situations, all the guests are strictly prohibited to be inside the hotel buildings in wet clothes and barefoot, such as the reception, in the lobby bar and other facilities, i.e. apart from their rooms. Even if guests are headed to their room in order to cross the hotel reception or lobby they need to put on shoes and make sure that water is not dripping from their hair and clothes.

Dinner

Evening dress-code for gentlemen:
Shirts are not compulsory; the main rule is covered-up shoulders: men can attend in t-shirts, but not in tank-tops. Trousers are not compulsory; men can wear shorts, which are not too short, not for swimming and for sports. If you are wearing a prolonged version of smart casual shorts – you are welcome in the restaurant!
Evening dress-code for fair ladies:
Any neat everyday clothes are allowed. Besides, ladies in dresses are always a jewel of the evening! These can be cocktail dresses or smart linen dresses, which is absolutely acceptable on the Mediterranean.
Important remark: Wearing flip flops in the restaurant area are prohibited.

Pools – What is Saltwater Electrolysis?
All our swimming pools are equipped with a salt water electrolysis system for water maintenance.
This is not only environmentally friendly, but also pleasant to the skin.
The salt water electrolysis has some serious advantages over the use of conventional chlorine and is an environmentally friendly disinfection alternative. In addition, no typical smell of chlorine and the user feel a pleasant feeling: The low salt swimming pool water has only about one-tenth of the salt content of sea water, contains valuable minerals and trace elements and is therefore very pleasant for the eyes and skin. Weak salt water does not leach out the skin. It results in a skin-conditioning and connective tissue tightening effect. After bathing, dry salt particles are massaged into the skin to promote blood circulation. The result: the skin feels silky soft and tender.

Are Inflatable’s allowed in the pools?
For safety reasons, we must insist and cannot allow inflatable's.

Do you cater for guests with dietary requirements?
Yes, at Blue Bay Resort Hotel we take dietary requirements very seriously.
The Maitre d’hôtel and his team are always happy to offer guidance along our extensive buffets and certainly beyond, if necessary.
All we ask is that you please give our team an early notice for anything other than Vegetarian or Vegan diets; these options are fully catered for each day.
Our F&B department has undertaken considerable research in putting together our menus. In some instances however we are reliant on the products and ingredients purchased from external suppliers so whilst we try to ensure that they are allergen free we cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever if such products contain items that we are unaware of.
Guests with severe allergies are advised to assess their own level of risk and consume dishes at their own risk.

Not only the temperature, but also the filling quantity can be individually regulated. The handling takes place via the mixer tap (hot/cold).

For us it goes without saying to have ready some small, cold supper (Sandwich, fruit & water).

The town centre is about 2km from the hotel and next to various shops (mini market, cafeteria, taverns/restaurants, and souvenir shop) you will also find a sandy beach.
The centre can be reached by taxi, but also in about 20 minutes on foot. From the hotel driveway, the path leads turning to the left, past the car rental company and shortly afterwards down the stairs and further along a path that turns into a street again.
